We are looking for a Laundry Assistant to join our team at Rosturk House.

Based in Cupar the successful Laundry Assistant will work 6-hour shifts 4 days a week on a rota basis, and will earn £11.60 per hour, in addition to an attractive benefits package. To apply, please send an email to rosturk@rosturk.co.uk

JOB PURPOSE: TO WORK AS PART OF A TEAM TO MAINTAIN A HIGH STANDARD OF CLEANLINESS OF LINEN, TOWELS AND CLIENT’S PERSONAL CLOTHING, AND TO ENSURE AN ADEQUATE SUPPLY OF THESE AT ALL TIMES.

Main Responsibilities:

‍
Washing and drying of residents personal clothing.
Washing and drying of bedding, towels facecloths etc.
Small repairs.
Ensure clean clothing is returned to the appropriate place.
Ordering of laundry powder/detergent etc.
Training and Development
Participate in supervision sessions and be willing to be active in your own development, acquiring new skills and ongoing training.
Maintain professional knowledge and competence.
Attend mandatory training days/courses on or off site

Communication:

Participate in staff meetings as required.
Report any concerns to Management team.

Health and Safety:

‍
Ensure the laundry is clean and tidy as per schedule.
Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
Use appropriate protective clothing when dealing with soiled/infected linen.
Understand and ensure the implementation of the Home’s Health and Safety Policy and Emergency and Fire Procedures.
Report immediately to the Care Manager or person in charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by colleague, self, or another.
Report to the Care Manager or person in charge any faulty appliances, damaged furniture, equipment, or any potential hazard.
Promote safe working practice in the Home.

Promote and ensure the good reputation of the Home
Ensure all information of a confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties.
Notify the manager or person in charge as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty, and on your return to work from all periods of absence.
Adhere to all Company policies and procedures within defined timescales
Ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained.
To undertake any other duties as directed by Management
