We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Rosturk House.

JOB PURPOSE: TO MAINTAIN HIGH STANDARDS OF CLEANLINESS AND HYGIENE WHILE WORKING IN THE KITCHEN ENVIRONMENT. THIS MAY INCLUDE ASSISTING THE COOK TO PREPARE FOOD, WASHING DISHES, CARRYING OUT ALLOCATED CLEANING TASKS AND MAINTAINING RECORDS.

Skills Knowledge and Qualifications:

Essential:

Good communication skills

Ability to work as part of a team and independently

Satisfactory PVG check

Two satisfactory references

Desired:

Basic food hygiene certificate (or willing to work towards).

Experience of food preparation for the relevant client group.

Experience in a kitchen environment - washing dishes, preparing food and cleaning.

Main Responsibilities:

May assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals.

Wash up after meals, keep the kitchen and equipment in a clean and hygienic condition.

Keep Dining Room clean and tidy.

Re stock cupboards and fridges in dining areas.

To participate in the day to day staff communications.

To perform other such reasonable tasks as may be requested or advised by the Care Manager, Deputy Manager, Cook or Senior staff.

Communication:

Know correct procedures for reporting incidents/accidents.

Participate in staff meetings as required.

Training and Development:

Participate in supervision sessions and be willing to be active in your own development, acquiring new skills and ongoing training.

Maintain professional knowledge and competence.

Attend mandatory training days/courses on or off site.

Health and Safety:

Contribute to the health, safety and security of all residents and colleagues, ensuring the environment remains clean, tidy and free from hazards.

Be aware of and ensure the implementation of the company’s health and safety policy and emergency and fire procedures.

Adhere to infection control policies and procedures. Report immediately to Care Manager or person in charge any illness of an infectious nature.

Report any accident incurred by resident, self, or others.

General:

Promote and ensure the good reputation of the Home

Ensure all information of a confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties.

Notify the manager or person in charge as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty, and on your return to work from all periods of absence.

Adhere to all Company policies and procedures within defined timescales

Ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained.

To undertake any other duties as directed by Management

Based in Cupar the successful Kitchen Assistant will work 9-hour shifts 3 days a week on a rota basis, and will earn £11.60 per hour, in addition to an attractive benefits package.
