We are looking for a Cook to join our team at Rosturk House.

Based in Cupar the successful Cook will work 8-hour shifts 3/4 days a week on a rota basis, and will earn £12.00 per hour, in addition to an attractive benefits package. To apply, please send an email to Rosturk@rosturk.co.uk

JOB PURPOSE: To provide healthy, well balanced nutritional meals in accordance with individual client's dietary needs. To assist with the ordering, purchasing, and storing of food commodities working within the food budget. To ensure all food hygiene and health and safety standards set by the Home and where appropriate outside regulators are met and actively promote such standards within the Home.

Skills Knowledge and Qualifications:

(Degrees or diplomas obtained abroad are acceptable if they are equivalent standard to UK qualifications)

•             SVQ Food Preparation Level II or equivalent

•             REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene.

•             Experience of working in a kitchen environment preparing foods and cooking meals.

•             Experience of working with older people or other vulnerable groups of people in a housing setting.

•             Ability to maintain high standards of hygiene within the kitchen/dining areas. Communication skills.

•             To be able to develop and maintain working relationships with residents and colleagues including maintaining appropriate confidentiality. Basic administrative skills (i.e. to monitor and maintain stock records, financial records, ordering etc.)

•             To have knowledge of statutory regulations related to food hygiene. To have some knowledge of nutritional and dietary requirements.

•             To be able to plan, prepare, cook, and deliver the meal service.

•             A flexible approach to undertaking a range of tasks and commitment to providing a high standard of meals service.

•             A willingness to participate in training.

•             Time flexibility to cover for occasions when other staff are on holiday or attending training etc.
